Robert Leonard Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Blaze Fire Investigation is proud to recognize Senior Fire Investigator Robert Leonard for his Lifetime Achievement Award from Waukesha County, Wisconsin.  Investigator Leonard has been in the fire service since 1978 and is currently Assistant Fire Chief of the Dousman, Wisconsin Fire Department.  Recently he coordinated the rescue of a fallen firefighter at a 5-alarm fire in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.  An unconscious Lieutenant was rescued by the Rapid Intervention Crew under Leonard’s command.  He survived and returns to duty this month.

At the Medal of Valor Ceremony for the Rapid Intervention Crew, Leonard received a plaque commemorating his lifetime achievement award that included the ax used to make entry into the burning building.  Leonard was honored for his commitment to firefighter safety and says of that day, “I made decisions that afternoon that I hope to never have to make again.  There were many hero’s that day that contributed to the Lieutenant’s survival.  Our motto of Everyone Goes Home is a reality.”

Congratulations Bob!
